After attending lessons on Shop for Value, Check the Facts, that was arranged and given by the Expanded Food Nuritrition and Education Program (EFNEP) she learned to understand the nutrition facts; how many calories are in one serving; and how to identify and limit fats, sodium, sugar and cholesterol.
Progress: several months later she has lost 8 pounds, along with no longer needing blood pressure medicine. She says that she is feeling better and she knows it is because she learned to identify and understand the nutrition facts in planning meals and eating controlled portions. “Thanks to EFNEP!” she said!
