Baker on subprime mortgage crisis -- The attorney for Iowa Concern and the Beginning Farmer Center John Baker says the subprime mortgage crisis is impacting Iowans in both rural and urban areas.

Baker on beginning farmers -- The attorney for the Beginning Farmer Center at Iowa State University John Baker says he has worked for 18 years to assist potential farmers into a career in agriculture. Despite high priced farmland and input costs, there are still many interested in getting into farming.

Ruth Hambleton on Annie’s Project -- University of Illinois Extension’s Ruth Hambleton started “Annie’s Project” to help farm women learn the ins and outs of farm marketing skills. The program is now available in Iowa and several other states.

Frank Owens on affordable housing -- Affordable housing is the topic for Iowa State University Extension field specialist Frank Owens. He says local housing trust funds are increasing in Iowa and are available in both rural and urban areas.
